...so third day and time to prove myself
Phew, I've just got in from a seriously hectic day.
This is going to be a short one as I need to sort myself out before The Rifles tonight.
Okay, so I got in half an hour early and left an hour late...that's dedication for you!
I FINALLY finished my festival band list wheyyyy. I think it ended up being about 56 pages long...in size 12 text in Word (ouch, I wouldn't want to edit that!) and after twiddling my thumbs for all of about three minutes, the deputy editor (Luke Lewis) gave me a new assignment, in for the morning.
As The Prodigy are featured in this week's issue and there's a ridiculous amount of hype about them at the mo, I need to pick and write about their top ten singles. Sounds easy, right? Wrong.
I not only have to try and describe the songs, but include an interesting or 'unknown' fact about them...all in 60 words each! So you can imagine this is quite difficult. And this will be my first bit of 'journalism' for NME so I'm working my ass off to try and produce something amazing!
After only researching and writing about three songs, Luke came over to me and asked how I was doing etc....and then said he'd sent some more work over to me.
So at 4 o'clock I checked my email only to find that he'd asked me to write this week's NME.com quiz!!! I couldn't believe my luck....but the email said that he'd like it in by 4.30pm, if possible.
...
An hour and a half later (5.30pm) I'd finished it. My masterpiece. This week's NME quiz.
So basically if you're reading this, please do the quiz when it goes up (I will let you know when and post the link)! And let me know how you do....it's pretty hard I must admit (but all answers can be found on the website news bit as usual). I'm sure some of you will be able to do it.
So tonight I'm going to see The Rifles and New Education, can't wait!
But then I have to come back and work on The Prodigy article ahhhhh!
I heart this.
Over and out.
(wow, wasn't as short as I thought!)
