...so the end of my second week went like this

Sorry I've taken so long to update this!

Okay so last week I spent muchos of my time at NME uploading the festival info I gathered at the start of my first week (see previous blog posts)...

Wednesday
I spent most of the day being excited about going to the Instigate Debate at Boogaloo that evening.

My first task (as I haven't had to dish out post this week - apparantly I 'know' where everyone sits now. hmm) was to write about the four bands to perform at the NME Radar Tour in April/May this year - La Roux, Heartbreak, Magistrates and The Chapman Family - all of whom I am not terribly fond.

Take a look at the profiles and tour page HERE.

I then basically started the festival uploading. NME.COM are using a new content management system called CMA (version 3) - as I haven't had much experience using their previous systems, I found it relatively easy to get used to, despite it being the SLOWEST system I have ever used in my life. It's lucky my laptop is ridiculously slow and I'm used to being patient with it, otherwise I may have thrown their computer across the room...it's that slow.

Anyway so after work I went to the Instigate Debate with the rest of the 'workies', where the promise of eyeing Carl Barratt, amongst others was on the cards.

Alas we were faced with Ken Livingstone, X-Ray Spex singer Poly Styrene and Reverend and the Makers' Laura Manuel instead - not that this was a bad thing...just not the eye-candy I was hoping for to numb the pain of having to endure a two-hour debate about topics like war, the media, inequality and a LOT of politics. It was not the evening I had hoped for at all.

After what seemed like a lifetime the debate finally ended and we escaped out the back. We kind of missed the first performance (don't know who he was) and Get Cape. Wear Cape's too - but we caught Fionn Regan's set. It was amazing. He was amazing.

I have never before in my life seen hair that big on a man.

Anyway, after his set we kind of bumped into him (our intention was to pop over and speak to Get Cape's Sam) and had a lovely chat about how he got started, what his home was like...I think I even asked him about his volumous hair. A fantastic end to an otherwise dull evening.

Thursday and Friday

The rest of the week was literally spent uploading the festivals onto NME.COM's website. That's it.

Oh the Green Day photo gallery I wrote earlier this week is now up. Please have a gander HERE. Thank you :)

Last week next week...I never want to leaveeee.

Over and out.
